Welcome to Dereham Fringe Festival . . .
. . . or if you’d prefer, Dereham Festival Fringe! The last Dereham Festival took place in 2012, so this Fringe has been growing for a long time. Its basic ideas are simply to introduce, re-familiarise, and remind people what a wonderful facility we all share in Dereham Memorial Hall, by making it especially attractive to come through its doors on Saturday 9th September at any time after 10.00am till 5.00pm. A succession of really talented performers will each be putting on a short showcase of their work for free, for people to sit and watch in the comfort of the Main Hall. As if this wasn’t enough, a variety of wonderful teachers and trainers have given up their time to offer free tasters, displays and introductions to their particular areas of excellence in the Meeting Room. And, on top of this, more than 20 local groups representing a wide range of interests will be in the Gallery and Garden Room with stalls and displays to show what they do, and what they can offer you. This is no ordinary volunteers fair: there will be street entertainers performing throughout the building all through the day, and food and drink to keep your energy levels high.
This online programme will tell you who will be there for your delight, and when you can expect to see them. But, be aware – this is work in progress ! The names and the timings are believed to be correct at the date at the end of this programme. But part of its delight is that it is subject to change – best check names and timings before you set out ! We won’t accept any responsibility if you miss someone because their time has changed !
We are sure that you will find a lot to interest you.
In bringing you the Dereham Fringe Festival, the Friends of Dereham Memorial Hall gratefully acknowledge the financial support and assistance from Dereham Town Council, Norfolk Community Foundation and Norfolk County Council Arts Project Fund
